Our two indoor cats were clearly bothered by itchy ears indicating mites. I ordered this size thinking it would be just enough for two cats. Actually, this will last me quite a while! This bottle contains enough for at least a year’s worth of regular application for our cats, though that will obviously vary for individual use. There is no offensive odor and the solution does not irritate the cats. I find it helpful to warm it up to my skin temperature before applying so the cats are not shocked by a cold liquid. Two treatments does the trick, and with maintenance just a single application once a month seems to work well as a preventive measure. Both cats stopped scratching the next day after the first application dried. They do go outside and interact sometimes with other cats, so on rare occasions the mites return. Applying this is tricky for me. The spout works fine, but for our efforts I find it best apply to a finger or cloth rather than trying to control what is dispensed directly into the ear. Neither cat like to be held tightly with both fiercely struggling to get free when their head is held. This complicated application. One cat fiercely combats anything that touches the ear, the other struggles almost as badly. I tried cotton swabs but they moved so much that I was fearful of hurting their ear. Tried squirting directly in, but the struggles resulted in an unintentional large volume dispensed or too little. Using my finger is the best overall, but never fun. The product works very well – no complaints whatsoever.
